West Suffolk Council is a district council covering the towns of Brandon, Bury St Edmunds, Clare, Haverhill, Mildenhall and Newmarket, as well as the villages around these areas. The Council is made up of 64 councillors who are elected to make decisions on behalf of the residents. Those decisions then set the direction for much of the council’s work. The Mildenhall Hub is one example of this although the decision was made by the council’s predecessor Forest Heath District Council.

The council has worked with partners in education, leisure, health, police, community, advisory and other public services to bring together the hub all with the aim of delivering facilities and services that are more accessible in one visit, that are more suited to current and future needs, and are working more as one for the benefit of the residents we all represent. The Hub is also designed to be more efficient than the old outdated buildings it replaces, delivering both environmental and economical savings and with it greater resilience to some of the challenges ahead.
